Solway Foods has developed
over the last ten years into a company with some
of the most technically advanced factories in
the chilled food industry. To aid our skilled
employees, we invest in the latest
technology and employee amenities to
improve efficiencies in all areas.
Continuous investment in both the people and technology has ensured that Solway
Foods
is at the front of the chilled food industry.
Solway Foods was the first in the country to
manufacture sandwiches using a Leider machine.
The investment in this equipment increased
capacity without additional labour. |
Solway Foods also invests in equipment to aid
development. In 1997, a chargrilling facility
was installed into Solway Foods Corby. This enabled us to
develop a number of sandwiches and salads using chargrilled vegetables and launch a new flavour
that continues to grow in popularity.
Another first for Solway
Foods was at Manton Wood, the
first non-Japanese factory to manufacture sushi
in the UK.
In early 2003 we opened a £6.5m extension to the
Manton Wood site providing us with an up to the
minute production facility which will gave us
the capacity we needed to meet the demands for
the future.
In late 2006 an additional £2m of investment at
our Manton Wood site saw the installation of a
state of the art Leider machine to increase
production capability and capacity.
More recently we have invested £10m at the Corby
site to increase capacity and retain our leading
position in the market place.
We pride ourself on being the best at what we
do. Continuous investment in people and
equipment ensures that our products are produced
to the highest standard but at the lowest cost.
It also allows us to retain the market leading
formula of supplying exciting and innovative
products. Through creative innovation Solway
Foods has
become the customer’s first choice.
