Solway Foods was thrilled to celebrate the opening of the Manton Wood site ten years ago this month.  When the site opened in 1999, it only occupied half of its current site and has grown to be one of the largest employers in Worksop. The site now employs nearly 700 people and is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of fresh sandwiches creating well over 1.3 million every week.

Sixty-seven employees who joined the company in 1999 still remain - including three couples! All these employees were awarded with a certificate by the Business Unit Managing Director – Kuldip Kular and enjoyed a buffet lunch provided by the company’s own chefs.  Kuldip stated his firm belief ‘our employees are the backbone of this business and we are extremely proud of the people in this room’.  Several of the original employees have progressed and form key parts of the company’s management team.
