Our Employees
We employee over 1500 people across Solway Foods.
We
are committed to providing a healthy, safe environment in
which all employees can work. Every year an employee survey
is carried out across the company where
all employees are given the opportunity to tell us how
they think we are doing as a business. In 2009 Solway
Foods will have celebrated its 10 year anniversary at the
Manton Wood site.
Fit for Life The Fit for Life campaign has been developed in line
with the Fit for the Future strategy and forms part of
our wellbeing programme. The campaign highlights to all
employees how they can help maintain their own health and
fitness through regularly reviewing their wellbeing and
lifestyle. This involves free health checks with an
Occupational Health
Advisor; monthly health awareness topics; discounted
rates at local gyms and healthy eating promotions. A key
message of the programme - “ Being healthy isn’t
just about when you are at home or in the gym - you can be healthy at work
too!”
Training & Development We encourage employees to develop skills and progress in
their careers. Our employees enjoy a wide range of
training and development opportunities such as: Food
Hygiene; NVQs; Senior Management Training; Front Line
Manager Training and ESOL.
